The Taushubetsu bridge has appeared from under the ice covering Lake Nukabira in Hokkaido, Japan.
This bridge is scraped by ice during each winter. Therefore, the concrete deteriorates as winter passes.
Currently, the bridge is under pressure from ice 10 to 15 centimeters thick.
The length of the bridge is 130 meters. So the weight on the entire bridge is expected to be very heavy.
The Taushubetsu bridge has stood under these conditions for nearly 60 years.
The Taushubetsu bridge is 11 meters high. Only the upper 1 meter or so has been seen so far.
It is expected to be a while before we will be able to view the whole structure.
