Welcome back to my blog! It's been a month since my last update.
March is here, but the mornings in Hokkaido's mountains are still very cold. Today, it was as cold as -17°C. The Otofuke River, which flows into Lake Nukabira, has started to unfreeze. This made a mist appear over the lake early in the morning.
The water level in Lake Nukabira is almost as low as it was at its lowest point last year. It looks like it might get even lower. In this mist, the Taushubetsu Bridge looks even more special when the morning sun shines on it. Even though people worry it might fall apart, it has stayed up through the winter.
Lately, the bridge often starts to fall apart in mid-April when it gets warmer and the snow melts. This time of the year is very important because it's when the bridge is most at risk.
Also, last month I started a crowdfunding campaign for "The Taushubetsu Journal vol. 8." I am working on it now. I plan to start printing this month and finish by the middle of next month.
I think those who helped us will be excited to see new pictures of the Taushubetsu Bridge.

一か月ぶりのブログ更新になりました。
3月に入ってからも北海道の山中での朝はまだまだ寒さが厳しく、今朝の気温は－17℃まで下がりました。
湖に流れ込む音更川の水面が開けてきたこともあり、早朝の湖上には霧が流れていました。
糠平湖の水位は昨年の最低水位とほぼ同じレベルまで下がっており、まださらに低くなりそうです。
霧の中で朝日に照らされるタウシュベツ川橋梁。いつ崩れるのかという心配をよそに、この冬も持ちこたえたまま乗り切りそうです。
とはいえここ数年で壁の崩落が起きるのはいつも4月半ばころ、雪解けが進む時期でした。これからが一年で最も注意を要する時期であると言えるかもしれません。
先月クラウドファンディングで資金を募った『タウシュベツ日誌 第8号』は目下制作の最中です。今月中には印刷に進み、来月半ばの完成を目指して進めています。
