〈穏やかな夕暮れ時に〉

ちょうど10年前の今日、2015年3月31日。穏やかな夕暮れ時の糠平湖で、対岸に見えるタウシュベツ川橋梁を撮っていた。

 

3月もこの日で終わりとはいえ、湖底にはまだ氷がしっかりと残っていた。まだらに土がのぞくのは、雪解け水を流す音更川。そしてガス穴の跡だ。

Exactly ten years ago today, on March 31, 2015, I was taking photos at twilight on Lake Nukabira, gazing across at the Taushubetsu Bridge in the distance. Even though it was the last day of March, the lakebed was still covered with thick ice.

 

Where the snow had started to melt around the Otofuke River, patches of bare ground were visible, along with traces of old gas holes. It made the ice look speckled, a mix of white and brown—an in-between state that suggested winter wasn’t quite finished, yet spring was already on its way.
