〈まだ冬が続いていた18年前の糠平湖〉
18年前の今日、2007年4月13日。タウシュベツ川橋梁を間近にしながら写真を撮っていた。まだ林道通行が今ほど規制されていなかったので、片道4キロの道のりを車で慎重に走れば、橋のすぐそばまで行けたころだ。
いま振り返ると、4月中旬とはいえ、その時期にまだ冬の気配が色濃く残っていたのがわかる。近年と比べると、春の訪れが遅かったのかもしれない。
崩落間近といわれる橋よりも、気候のほうが先に変わりつつあるようにも感じる。
Eighteen years ago today, on April 13, 2007, I was photographing the Taushubetsu Bridge from up close. Back then, forest road access wasn’t as restricted, so by carefully driving about four kilometers, I could reach the base of the bridge.
Looking back, even though it was mid-April, winter’s grip was still pretty strong. Compared to recent years, it seems spring arrived a bit later. In a sense, the climate has been changing more than the bridge itself—the one everyone keeps calling “close to collapse” still stands, while the weather marches on.
