The thawing at the bottom of the lake, previously covered in ice, has progressed, completely transforming the landscape from half a month ago. Today, the temperature has suddenly risen, marking the first summer-like day of the year in the mountains of Hokkaido. The streams fed by the melting snow have increased in water volume, and the sound of flowing water echoes through the earth-colored landscape. We are now rapidly moving into the season when fresh greenery will begin to sprout.
