In recent years, the Taushubetsu Bridge experienced collapses of its side walls from mid to late April, as the snow began to melt. This year, the bridge passed through that period without incident, leading us to hope it would remain intact throughout the year. However, unexpectedly at the end of June, a section of the wall collapsed. The damage occurred at the central arch's supporting pier, exposing the internal rocks.
